But FALKE hasn’t incorporated just any wool into these socks for you - only high-quality wool from merino sheep and alpacas will do. This makes the cycling socks not only pleasantly soft, but also keeps your feet nice and warm while also offering great breathability! In addition, these winter socks come impress with many tried-and-tested FALKE features such as the ergonomic, left/right-specific fit and the padded toe area.

ALPACA WOOL:
The wool of alpacas is characterised by excellent thermal insulation. The fine wool protects the animals from cold and also from heat, which is why clothing with alpaca wool is suitable for both hot and cold conditions. However, the fibre is particularly popular in winter clothing, where it unfolds its warming properties. Alpaca wool is also virtually pilling-free and particularly soft, making it pleasant on the skin.
MERINO WOOL:
Compared to traditional wool, merino wool offers a particularly fine fibre. Because of the weather conditions that merino sheep are exposed to in nature, the wool has thermoregulation properties and is capable of wicking moisture away from the body particularly fast. Thus, it creates a warm protective layer for the entire body, even when wet. In contrast to traditional wool, merino wool is not scratchy even when wet. Thus, merino is perfect as a next-to-skin layer. Yet, merino wool is also ideal for warm summer days since its high breathability has a cooling effect. Thanks to a natural sun protection factor, high comfort and fire resistance, merino wool is a very popular fibre.
