The SMART SAM PLUS from Schwalbe for the 2024 model year is a best seller with excellent all-round properties, outstanding puncture protection and a modern tread pattern that works very well both off-road and on the road.
Closely spaced knobs, which are arranged crosswise and lengthwise on the compact centre bar of the tread, ensure excellent ground contact and efficient rolling of the MTB clincher tyre. In combination with angular outer knobs, the tread pattern provides high grip and cornering safety even on loose surfaces. A great compromise for all those who frequently switch between road and off-road with their MTB. With this tyre, Schwalbe has also taken the users of e-bikes into account. The SMART SAM PLUS is certified in accordance with ECE-R75 and therefore also suitable for S-pedelecs and e-bikes with pedal assist up to 50 km/h.
Schwalbe has equipped the SMART SAM PLUS with the proven ADDIX Performance rubber compound to ensure that the tyre not only rolls fast, but also offers balanced handling. This impresses with high durability, good damping properties and outstanding grip.
When it comes to puncture protection, there were also no half measures taken: The three mm thick GreenGuard insert under the tread and the sidewalls equipped with Snake-Skin make the Smart Sam highly resistant to punctures. In addition, the tyre has reflective strips on the sidewalls, which can increase passive safety by improving visibility in dark lighting conditions.
This way, the Schwalbe SMART SAM PLUS combines the most important properties for varied on- and off-road tours, making it an excellent all-rounder for MTBs.
