The MAXXIS Minion DHR II has been a renowned tyre in the gravity sector for many years and is designed for versatile use on trails, enduro rides and in bike parks. The supported side knobs offer high lateral support in aggressive bends, while transverse centre knobs are designed for maximum braking traction.
The open tread pattern is designed for dry and loose surfaces as well as technical trails and is intended to provide predictable riding behaviour even in changing conditions. Depending on the bike set-up, the Minion DHR II is suitable both as a rear tyre with high braking traction and as a front tyre for aggressive trail and gravity use.
In this version, the Minion DHR II combines the particularly robust downhill casing with the further developed MaxxTerra rubber compound for demanding enduro and downhill use. Compared to the lighter DoubleDown casing, the dual-ply 60 TPI carcass with additional butyl inserts consistently focuses on maximum stability and high puncture protection, while the rubber compound offers high grip, efficient rolling behaviour and optimised mileage.
Technologies:
• Downhill Casing [DH]
The Downhill Casing from MAXXIS is based on a particularly robust tyre construction for downhill racing. The construction combines two 60-TPI casing plies with additional butyl inserts above the tyre bead and is designed for maximum stability and high puncture protection.
• MaxxTerra
MaxxTerra is a single-compound rubber compound from MAXXIS for trail and enduro use. The consistent development of the proven 3C MaxxTerra compound is intended to offer more grip and a longer tread life while maintaining low rolling resistance. The compound thus combines efficient rolling behaviour with high traction on the trail.
• TUBELESS READY [TR]
In the MAXXIS range, Tubeless Ready [TR] refers to tyres with a construction that is designed for tubeless use with a sealant, a compatible tubeless rim or matching rim tape. The system enables lower air pressures and is intended to improve traction and ride quality, while reducing the rolling resistance. In addition, minor damages can be sealed directly by the sealant, which reduces the risk of breakdowns.
