Maxxis Rekon Race TR EXO MaxxSpeed MTB Folding Tyre

The MAXXIS Rekon Race is designed for speed and feels particularly at home on dry XC trails, fast forest tracks and in races. As a semi-slick tyre with the flattest profile within the MAXXIS cross-country tyre family, it is designed for low rolling resistance and high efficiency without sacrificing controlled cornering performance.

The low centre knobs enable fast acceleration and efficient rolling on hardpack and dry trails, while more pronounced side knobs provide additional grip in corners. Thanks to the balanced tread design, the Rekon Race is suitable for both the front and rear wheel as well as a fast rear tyre in combination with a more heavily profiled front tyre.

In this version, the Rekon Race combines EXO Protection with the MaxxSpeed rubber compound for cross-country and light trail use with a focus on minimum rolling resistance, high efficiency and fast XC laps on dry and mixed surfaces.


Technologies:

• EXO PROTECTION
EXO Protection is an extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant protective layer on the sidewall of selected MTB, Gravel and Metro tyres from MAXXIS. The tightly woven material is designed to be both light and flexible, so that the performance of the tyres is affected as little as possible.

• MaxxSpeed
MaxxSpeed is a high-silica rubber compound from MAXXIS for XC racing. The compound is designed to reduce rolling resistance compared to 3C MaxxSpeed and also improve wet grip. In the laboratory test, rolling resistance was measured to be around 25 % lower than 3C MaxxSpeed with identical tread, tyre construction and air pressure.

• TUBELESS READY [TR] 
In the MAXXIS range, Tubeless Ready [TR] refers to tyres with a construction that is designed for tubeless use with a sealant, a compatible tubeless rim or matching rim tape. The system enables lower air pressures and is intended to improve traction and ride quality, while reducing the rolling resistance. In addition, minor damages can be sealed directly by the sealant, which reduces the risk of breakdowns.
