Garmin eTrex SE Handheld GPS Device

Back to the roots! With the eTrex SE, GARMIN is offering a GPS handheld the way it should be. A modern interpretation that has been reduced to the essentials, this compact handheld will excite all nature lovers that see the outdoors as a place for adventure. Anyone who prefers to look at the landscape rather than the display and sees a GPS not as a guide but as a companion. So if maps aren’t a requirement, then the GARMIN eTrex SE offers outstanding battery life, pinpoint GPS navigation and the ability to transfer tracks, waypoints, geocaches and updates to the device even without a PC connection.

Speaking of battery life: While the GARMIN GPS devices of the eTrex series have always been known for their outstanding endurance, GARMIN now eclipses all previous records with the eTrex SE. You could get a whopping 7 days with just two standard AA batteries before it's time for a new set. That's convenient for an entire hiking or biking holiday. What’s more: If you're planning a long-distance hike or a major bikepacking adventure and only need hourly GPS adjustments, the GARMIN eTrex SE will last for an insane 31 days in expedition mode. Good to know – just in case you ever get bitten by the bug.

Travellers planning less epic and more everyday adventures can enjoy the eTrex SE's Bluetooth connectivity – also a first for the eTrex series. This allows you to plan tracks and waypoints conveniently on your smartphone using the GARMIN Explore app and sync them wirelessly to the device. The geocaching live function also makes this possible for the latest caches in your area, which you can download, including descriptions, and use for spontaneous treasure hunts. A detour to the PC can also be skipped for those regular firmware updates.

All this makes the GARMIN eTrex SE a compact and rugged GPS navigation device that offers numerous advantages, and not only for beginners. Besides the long battery life and Bluetooth transmission, these advantages also include the digital compass and multi-satellite support for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou and QZSS. Contemporary features such as smart notifications, current weather information and USB-C connection also make the small outdoor navigation device fully future-proof. Whether the GARMIN eTrex SE is more "back to the roots" or rather "back to the future" – that’s in the eye of the beholder.
