Highlights & Technologies:

MIPS: WHAT IS MIPS?
MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) is a slip-plane system within the helmet. It is designed to rotate inside the helmet and thus slow down or reduce the impact energy acting on the brain, which helps reduce head injuries caused by rotational impacts.

WHY IS MIPS IMPORTANT?
When a head rotates quickly and comes to a sudden stop, the rotational acceleration may cause the brain tissue to experience high levels of strain. This stretching of the tissue caused by these motions may result in various types of brain injury. MIPS is designed with the intent to address rotational acceleration from impact.

HOW DOES MIPS WORK?
MIPS uses a slip-plane system that moves inside the helmet, mimicking the brain’s own protection system. This layer is designed to rotate inside the helmet with the intent to potentially slow down or reduce the amount of energy transferred to or from the head. Science tells us that if we can reduce the strains associated with rotational acceleration, we might reduce the risk and severity of brain injury.

MIPS AIR NODE:
The MIPS AIR NODE system is a low-friction layer laminated to the base of the comfort padding. It is connected to the energy-absorbing helmet lining with Velcro fasteners. In the event of oblique impacts, the "nodes" are designed to release locally so that the padding can slide and the rotational movement of the head can be reduced. The Mips Air Node system ensures movement inside the helmet to reduce the rotational movement of the head in the event of an impact at a certain angle and thus reduce the risk of injury. The system remains fixed until movement is required, as it is only released on impact. The Mips Air Node padding can of course be removed, washed by hand and dried at room temperature.

BOA:
The BOA-Fit system stands for performance-orientated closure and adjustment solutions and ensures a first-class fit thanks to its stepless, quick and easy micro-adjustability.

EPS:
This foam is used in helmets not only to provide ideal impact absorption, but also to keep the weight low.

FIDLOCK SNAP:
This is a self-closing magnetic closure that ensures quick and secure opening and closing of the helmet, even when wearing gloves. Thanks to the FIDLOCK principle, the closure shuts automatically and prevents the skin from being pinched.

IONIC+:
This is a removable and washable comfort lining that wicks moisture away from the head and is antimicrobial and odour-inhibiting thanks to its silver ion treatment.
