DT Swiss XM 1700 SPLINE® 30 MTB Rear Wheel 29“ BOOST (12x148mm) SRAM XD™

If you are looking for maximum riding fun on long trail days, both uphill and downhill, you need a rear wheel that responds directly and remains confident even on rough surfaces.

The DT Swiss XM 1700 SPLINE® 30 rear wheel combines a lightweight aluminium rim with the high-quality 350 hub and Ratchet DEG® DF 72 freehub system. The small 5° engagement angle ensures direct power transfer. In addition, the freewheel's free stroke can be extended by up to 20° to reduce pedal kickback and allow the suspension to work more smoothly on rough trails.

The rear wheel-specific, asymmetrical and welded aluminium rim ensures high stability, while the DT Competition® Race Straightpull spokes with extra-thin centre section save weight without noticeably sacrificing stiffness or robustness. The straight pull design without the classic spoke bend is also intended to support the high load capacity of the wheel.

In this version, the rear wheel is equipped with a SRAM XD™ freehub body.


Technologies:

• RATCHET DEG® DF:
The Ratchet DEG® DF freehub system from DT Swiss combines the engagement angle of the Ratchet DEG® system with an adjustable additional free stroke before the freehub engages. Depending on the setting, 0°, 10° or 20° additional free stroke is available, which can reduce pedal kickback on rough trails. The enlarged steel ratchets continue to ensure even power transfer over a large contact surface. 

• TUBELESS:
All DT Swiss wheels are tubeless ready. The profiles of the DT Swiss rims are specially designed for tubeless use. The rim profile makes it easier to fit the right tyre and ensures a perfect fit. The tubeless system of the rim consists of DT Swiss tubeless ready tape for sealing and a DT Swiss tubeless valve in a length that complies with the rim. When using tubeless ready tyres, a compatible sealant must be used. However, it is also possible to use a conventional combination of tyre and inner tube.

• BEARINGS:
Having learned from years of experience, DT Swiss only uses durable cartridge bearings without bearing play adjustment. DT Swiss hubs are designed to have the optimum axial and radial bearing play when they are properly installed. The correct preload of the bearings to compensate for the clamping force of the wheel mounting system is the basis for a play-free hub with minimum friction.

• PRO LOCK®:
DT Pro Lock® prevents the spoke-nipple connection from loosening. In the Pro Lock® process, a special dual component adhesive is injected into the nipple thread, allowing for extremely durable wheel builds. By threading the nipple onto the spoke the adhesive is activated and then hardens completely within a few hours. Re-truing the wheel is possible, yet it will cause a slight decrease in the adhesive power each time.
